 Q:    What is mediation?

 A:    Mediation is a process for resolving disputes that serves as an alternative to going to court on a particular issue.

 

 

 

 Q:      Who conducts the process of mediation?

 A:     A trained, neutral third person, known as a mediator conducts discussions during the mediation process.

 

 Q:     Will the mediator represent me and make a decision about the dispute?

 A:     No. A mediator’s role is not that of an attorney or judge.  A mediator is an impartial, unbiased third person enabling the          disputing parties to make their own mutually acceptable decisions.

 

 

 Q:     What types of issues can be resolved by mediation?
